THE BRICK PRESS The availability of soil
as a building material, combined with the economy of on site machine production,
makes "pressed earth block" an attractive alternative to imported
building materials. With the addition of 4-5% cement in the mix, the block
is suitable for building in most climates, and meets building codes in urban
areas. The economic advantages of pressed block increase in rural areas where it
may be expensive and difficult to import materials. The low environmental
impact gives pressed block an ecological advantage that is becoming a larger
consideration in light of our strained resources.
